By far the most recognisable name on this list, the Village Duck chain of Chinese roasted meat restaurants makes finding good siew yuk a remarkably easy and pain-free task. While not boasting the same sort of storied history that the other restaurants here have, it makes up for it by being the most comfortable and most convenient option.
Reasons to visit/tips:
- While you should definitely order the siew yuk here, don’t forget the namesake roasted duck too, which is served de-boned.
- The clay pot fried rice that sizzles when served is also an exciting dish to sample! But be sure not to leave the rice to sit in the clay pot for too long, or it will dry out.
