Located across the street from the Wangsa Maju EPF offices, Ziemil Corner is a favourite haunt among many locals who live in the Wangsa Melawati, Taman Melawati and Wangsa Maju neighbourhoods. Typically up and running by 9 am, the corner stall serves up a deliciously fluffy nasi lemak, with an incredible spectrum of lauk-pauk to satisfy even the most picky of eaters. Expect wrap-around lines during lunch hour!

Mali’s Corner is another underrated feature on this list, as most folks outside of the Setapak area would likely have not heard about it. Run from a curbside stall, eager customers are usually seen lining up well ahead of time. The nasi lemak and kway teow basah come highly recommended! But be sure to come during the evenings, as they are only open past 5:30 PM.

Cooked from a family recipe that has been passed down for generations, the owner of the restaurant, Kak Saleha, continues to man the stove herself. Their nasi lemak is best served with a side of ayam rendang, stewed to perfection. Expect long queues!
